Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of WatchNext (“we”, “us”, “the Service”) at watchnext.app. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

The Service is operated from Lehi, Utah, United States.

Free, Premium, and Unlimited plans

WatchNext offers a free tier with separate per-type caps on tracked shows and movies (each capped independently), a paid Premium subscription (higher caps, ad-free experience, push and series status alerts, enhanced digests, and inactivity protection), and a paid Unlimited subscription that includes everything in Premium plus uncapped tracking, personal TV calendar with iCal/RSS feeds, TV Time/Trakt import, library export, and WatchNext Wrapped.

Every new account receives a 30-day Premium trial starting at first sign-in. The trial does not require a payment method and includes Premium-tier entitlements only (not Unlimited exclusives). When the trial ends, paid access ends unless you subscribe through Stripe. Each account is eligible for one signup trial.

If you cancel or drop to a lower tier while you have more than that tier’s limit of shows or movies in your library, the over-cap titles are archived rather than deleted: they remain visible in your library marked "Archived" but do not generate alerts, emails, or other notifications, and do not count toward your active per-type cap. You may at any time remove an archived title to free its slot, or upgrade to restore archived titles up to your new plan’s caps.

Paid plans are billed through Stripe at the prices shown on your account and plans pages (currently Premium $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year, Unlimited $3.49 per month or $34.99 per year, subject to change with notice). The 30-day signup trial is free and does not auto-convert to a paid subscription unless you choose to subscribe. Same-interval upgrades (for example Premium monthly to Unlimited monthly) may charge a prorated difference for the remainder of the current period.

Import & calendar feeds

You may import watch history from third-party exports (such as TV Time) or connected services (such as Trakt) subject to our technical limits and your plan caps. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use data you upload.

Premium calendar iCal and RSS feed URLs are private credentials. Do not share them publicly. We may rotate or invalidate feed tokens if we detect abuse or at your request.

Browser extensions

We may offer optional browser extensions (including a streaming Auto-Tracker for Netflix, Prime Video, Max, Disney+, Hulu, Paramount+ and Fandango at Home) that help mark episodes and movies watched in your WatchNext library. Extensions are part of the Service when you choose to install and configure them.

• No guarantee of continuity. We do not guarantee that any extension will work continuously, correctly, or at all. Third-party sites (including Netflix, Prime Video, Max, Disney+, Hulu, Paramount+ and Fandango at Home) may change their websites, apps, player UI, APIs, terms, or technical protections at any time. Those changes can break parsing, auto-tracking, or installation without notice.
• Unofficial integration. Extensions that interact with Netflix or other services are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by those services. Your use of Netflix remains subject to Netflix’s terms. You are responsible for complying with third-party terms when using an extension.
• Library marking. By default the Auto-Tracker only marks episodes for shows already in your WatchNext library. If you turn on the optional auto-add setting, finishing an episode of a show that is not yet in your library adds that show, and a movie that is not yet in your library is added as Watching once you have played about 3 minutes of it (each subject to your plan’s limits). A movie already in your library moves to Watching after about 3 minutes of playback, and it is marked finished when playback passes about 80%.
• Tokens. Auto-Tracker tokens are credentials. Keep them private, revoke them if a device is lost, and do not share them. We may revoke or rotate tokens if we detect abuse.
• Diagnostics. Extensions may send limited diagnostic reports when auto-tracking fails unexpectedly so we can detect breakage. See our Privacy Policy.
• Best effort. We may update, suspend, or discontinue extensions at any time. Sideloaded or store-listed builds may lag behind site changes.

Intellectual property & extension license

WatchNext, including the website, the apps, the API, the matching and tracking logic, the design, and the Auto-Tracker browser extension (the “Software”), is owned by WatchNext and protected by copyright and other laws. Copyright © 2026 WatchNext. All rights reserved. The Software is licensed, not sold.

• Your license. While you have an account in good standing, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software with your own WatchNext account, as described in these Terms.
• What you may not do. Without our prior written permission, you may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Software; redistribute, republish, sell, rent, or sublicense it (including re-listing or repackaging the extension); reuse its source code, provider-detection logic, or protocol in another product or service; use it, or a token, to reach the WatchNext API other than with your own account; use it to build a competing service; or remove any copyright notice.
• Readable source. Browser extensions are delivered to your browser as readable code. That does not make the Software open source or give you any right to reuse it beyond this license.
• Reverse engineering. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source of the server-side Service, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
• Third-party content and marks. Movie and show data come from The Movie Database (TMDB); this product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Streaming and brand names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify those services.
• Your content. You keep ownership of your own library, lists, and notes. You grant us the limited rights needed to store and display them to you and to run the Service.
• Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
• Reporting. If you believe something on WatchNext infringes your rights, contact [email protected].

Subscriptions & billing

• Paid subscriptions auto-renew each billing period until canceled.
• You may cancel anytime through the Stripe billing portal linked from your account page. Cancellation stops future charges; paid access continues until the end of the current paid period.
• We do not store full payment card numbers. Payment processing is handled by Stripe subject to Stripe’s terms.
• No refunds. All charges are final. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, upgrades, or accidental renewals.
• We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days’ notice before the change applies to your next renewal.
• Promotion codes may be offered from time to time and are subject to their stated terms and Stripe’s redemption rules.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or overload our systems, interfere with other users, or use the Service for unlawful purposes.

Account termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security or abuse risk.

Free accounts inactive for three months may be deleted automatically as described in our Privacy Policy. Premium accounts are exempt while an active subscription is maintained.

Service availability & changes

We do not guarantee the Service will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may take the Service down for maintenance, updates, or any other reason, for as long as we determine necessary, without notice and without liability to you.

We may add, modify, limit, or discontinue any feature, plan, price, or other aspect of the Service at any time, at our sole discretion.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. When an update requires renewed agreement, you must review and accept the new version before continuing to use your account. The date at the top of this page identifies the current version.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Episode data, streaming availability, and show metadata come from third parties (including TMDB) and may be incomplete or outdated. Browser extensions that rely on third-party sites (including Netflix) are likewise provided as is and may stop working when those sites change.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (b) USD $25.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes shall be brought in state or federal courts located in Utah, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
